How to Speed up Life’s Lessons


Each Moment Holds A Lesson For Us

Each experience in life affords us the ability to grow our wisdom. The more we can be in a heightened state of awareness through consistent concentration and meditation practices the more quickly we can grow in wisdom. The mere act of attempting to learn and grow from a situation allows us to grow our capacity to experience life in a more fulfilling way. If in a given situation, you are in a state of awareness where you are able to perceive the situation beyond your thoughts and emotions, then you can access the lesson in the moment. This is extremely beneficial because you don’t have to go through nearly as much turmoil before you realize what a situation means, you will know intuitively.

To go into this further, this type of purposeful detachment from thoughts and emotions allows for a clear understanding of what a situation means without the need for intellectualization. As we grow in our ability to concentrate our mind through meditation we will naturally grow in our ability to see beyond our thoughts and emotions, and into “what is”. Experiencing life in this way saves a lot of energy as there is no need to later release repressed emotions to realize what we could have learned instantaneously in the moment.

The Rewards Of Higher Awareness

In the more trying situations of life that are bound to occur for each of us, the concentration skills we develop will naturally lend themselves to help. Though we may not be able to fully release a powerful emotion in a difficult situation, through our developed concentration skills, at least some of it can be allowed to pass without being repressed. This effectively takes the edge off of the suffering that we have to go through. Later, once we have some distance from a situation, we can use our meditation skills to assist in the process of allowing the emotions to be released.

Building our emotional management abilities leads to all kinds of rewards. But, keep in mind, this is not about ignoring our emotions. That’s what causes many people to carry around so much emotional baggage. We will still feel emotions very deeply, and in some cases more deeply than others who haven’t developed these skills. This is about allowing ourselves to become more in tune with life in order to more fully enjoy the precious moments while also taking the edge off of life’s inevitable struggles.
